Founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, Sapienza University is one of the oldest universities in the world. The mission of the university is to accelerate the development of research, education and international cooperation. In more than 275 programs on Bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, 30 thousand foreign students are studying at the university, including 115 thousand. Sapienza has 11 faculties, 59 departments and 54 libraries, a large number of research centers related to archeology, physics, humanities.
